EDS began operations in Mexico in 1985 with initial government approval to serve only General Motors Corporation. The automotive company had recently purchased EDS to implement its information management functions. In 1989, EDS extended services to both the public and private sectors in Mexico, helping clients creatively use information to achieve their business goals.

EDS is widely acknowledged as the company that best supports corporations in sectors including transportation, manufacturing, financial services, communications, foods and beverages, by providing efficient and effective services, tailored to the specific needs of these and other major players in the Mexican economy.
